Prompt 1
For this cultural artifact, it is a women cleaning and the caption expressing on how that's her real job. it expresses the “true” role of a women. In their eyes, it is seen that a womens role should be cleaning the house and doing the real job of a women which is cleaning and maintaining the house. This can be taken offence to women because of how this ad is stereotyping women back in the days, where a womens job was to only cleans and to do house work, instead of going out and getting an actual job.
Prompt 2
What it shows is that women are looked out so little and that men only have one perspective of women, which is them basically being a maid and just cleaning and doing “women stuff” while men are out there doing “men stuff”. As you can see clearly, it shows femininity by having that specific outlook on women and how they should just stuck to house work. And it shows masculinity by showing how men see women, which as discussed earlier, on them just seeing them as a maid. It doesn't at all attempts to push forward the traditional ideas. I think it actually pushes them more back on the ideals of having women be maid and not to get jobs.
Prompt 3
I think this has showed me not to agree on what pop culture thinks women's roles are, because I for sure know that women are more capable of doing more than just house work, and i know that some women are even capable on doing a way better job then some men. This kind of reminds me of how my culture (mexicans) do things. Men are expected to be the stronger ones and have more responsibilities than the females. On the other hand, women are suppose to take care of the children at home, clean the house 24/7, do the laundry, make sure there's breakfast, lunch, and dinner on the table, and cater to the man. I for one have never agreed on this, so this ad just reminds me of how significant it is to things that are done in Mexico.
Prompt 4
What it shows is a women cleaning and the caption saying that that is a womens real job. The social world is men and women having these specific roles that have been getting stereotyped for so long, an it is acted upon by still continuing to encourage these roles. The creators are Mr Cleans company trying to advertise their cleaning projects. The audience they are trying to get are men and women. Women, because they are the only ones that clean, and Men, because the message is addressed more to them.
